Hey everyone, its been a very hectic 11days! I guess we will start at the begining;

Arrived in Bangkok last sunday, it was hot! After our 11 hour flight we got to the hostel (Asha Guest House) which was pretty much 4 walls and 2 single beds (for some reason) and a fan, but it was good enough for us, cold showers and cheap beer!!! We soon found out that we were miles away from the tourist area's, seeing as the only food we could find seemed to be squid on a stick or unknown bags of what looked like water and something, i asume its a soup, but looked horrid. The air in Bangkok is exactly how everyone says it is, filthy, smells like sewage and cars, not nice at all, and i think after the first 2 days of it, we both felt very home sick and a year was seeming far too long already! On the second day we booked up some tours to get us away from Bangkok, so the next day we went to Cambodia to see the ankor wat, 4hours on the bus and we made it to the border with our visas: It was the most intimidating experience I have been in, we were exchanged guide to guide until we had no idea what was going on, then we finally filled out enough pieces of paper to make it to the other side! Once we got there a man took us to an exchange shop, telling us that there were no ATM's in cambodia and you will get a crap exchange rate everywhere other than here, and we would have believed him if the coach driver had not told us to change money at the border! After we rejected him, he seemed to be pretty angry and told us to sit in this room for 2 hours until enough people came to fill up a bus! It was hot and muggy and very dirty, but finally the bus came and we were on our way down the very bumpy roads of cambodia. After some trouble getting to the hostel we finally made it, and it turned out to be really nice, double bed with an ensuit and a big fan, and quite nice food!

So the next day we went to the ankor wat, which was really really impressive, it was the best day we have had! It was also very very hot, but got some really good photos and saw some amazing sites, its just so massive! and then the next day we went to the floating village, which was ok, not great but we did get to see some crocs which again was pretty good! The day after we headed back to bangkok and again waited several hours at the border for a bus! The hostel we had in Bangkok, was a dive, about as big as the average shed id say, with a old air con unit and no windows in the bathroom, so we stayed out late that night in Ko San Road and got up early and headed off to Kanchanaburry.

First thing we did was go to the river Kwai bridge and do some WWII stuff, and then walked along the bridge, was quite interesting! Then we went to a raft much further down the river, which ended up being our home for the next 2 nights - A nice sized bamboo raft with double bed, air con, and an on suit with all our meals included, even though it was thai food and you had to eat what you were given, it was really nice! That afternoon we went to a tiger place, which was like a canyon where the tigers just roam around and you have pictures taken with them, and see the cubs, again it was really fun, and got some really good pictures, but my camara ran out of battery so ended up taking the pics with the video camara for my turn, which i was a bit gutted about cos they wern't as good quality, but never mind, still some good photos! The next day we went to the Erwana Falls, which were 7 levels of waterfalls- it was amazing, we went swimming in one of the pools and you get little fish nibbling you all the time, very strange feeling lol! It was quite a trek to the top one, but worth the effort, and later on that day we went to hell fire pass which again was interesting, all about the 2nd world war! Finally yesterday we went on a nice relaxing bamboo raft down the river kwai and had lunch before we went elephant riding and to another waterfall (which was rubbish in comparison)! Then we got back on the bus and into bangkok, to the train station which would eventually take us to where we are now! our train left at 6:10pm and after having to change trains twice after they both appeared to breakdown (its very hard when no-one speaks english) we made to to Ayuthaya at about 10pm, got to our hostel only to be carted to another place, which was in fact a hotel (our first one so far) and stayed the night there, which was quite nice!!! So today we are just catching up, and chillin out! Have managed to upload a few pics, but have about 400 already and the computers are slow out here, so we will upload more when we can!!! Hope everything is ok back home!! We are getting the night train to Chang Mai tonight, which takes 10 hours, and then start are 3 day trek to following day so we will update soon!
