Ozintro Day 5 - Blue Mountains
We were all planning on getting up at 6am this morning because we were being picked up to go to the mountains at 7, but unfortunately we were awake a lot earlier. Some lads from down the corridor were running about shouting 'You wot, you wot!' at 4am and woke us all up. Needless to say, we were NOT impressed!
Our Blue Mountains trip was an Oz Experience tour and our guide Scooter was brilliant, really chatty and kept goin off at random tangents when he was talking to us. The first place we stopped was so that we could see some animals and birds and i saw my first real life kangaroo! Managed to get quite close to take some pictures. (as well and a lovely looking big spider!)
I've never really been one for getting excited about scenery but the mountains were gorgeous. I took loads of pics which i'm trying to get up now, but its taking quite a while!! Obviously as clumsy as i am, i managed to slip over in the mud and get mud all over my bum! There were loads of waterfalls among the trees and a couple of us walked up one of the small ones to get a better look. After we stopped for lunch we walked down about 1000 steps down the mountain so that we could take a train back up. The railway was there originally because it was used when the area was used for mining, and it goes really steeply up the side of the mountain. Was really quick though!
This evening a few of us went over to Coogee bay hotel (CBH) for a quiet drink, which turned in to a few more than a quiet drink! There was live music by a male and female duo playing loads of cheesy old songs with bongos and a backing track, so we ended up staying there dancing til about 1am. Kate almost got carl Morgan chucked out by taking his shirt off, but she gave it back when the bouncer came over. Had a really good night - the best so far here in Coogee!
