After the experiences in Cusco, I went back alone (Lisi left me because she went to Columbia to meet with her boyfriend) to Arequipa were I only stayed 1night and then made my way to Nazca. That was my last (thank god!) overnight bus journey of 10 hours but I travelled luxurious in a cama (=bed), cost me more but was worth it! In Nazca I overflew the famous Nazca lines with a Cessna - the advise not to have breakfast before that was the best I ever got, I felt quite out of balance when we landed after 45min in the air and this little plane moving left, right, left, right...but I enjoyed it. Didn't really like Nazca itself, it was very dry but hot (which was good) and not very pretty either. Being a huge fan of pottery, I visited a few potteries in the area. They produced stuff you would not see anywhere else because it is unique and special from the Nazca region. On the way I also passed a goldwashers place which was interesting too but the jewellery looked almost unreal...
Anyway, after 1 day there, I moved on to Ica which I did not like at all and decided last minute to go straight through to Pisco and further to Paracas. There I was, in a nice place on the sea, quite lonely as there was nearly no one in the hostel. I had my own big room with private bath (what luxury!) and relaxed. I visited the National Reserve of Paracas which was beautiful and the Islas Ballestas (people say poor mans Galapagos) with a huge colonie of sea lions, a lot of birds, pelicans, pinguins etc...lovely! In total I spent 3days in Paracas before I took on my last bus journey in Peru - 3h to Lima. Lima is another big city but did not even get to see the centre as I just stayed in Miraflores, the more upper-class area. Only spent 2days in Lima, went to the sea and visited the Museo Larco (potteries from the Inca times) which I really, really enjoyed. 2days were enough and I was so much looking forward to go to Ecuador!!!
