As I mentioned, we are still in San Pedro although our last day is today, Sunday. We did a few things the last 2 days: On Friday was full moon and we went moonlight sandboarding on the dunes with a bottle of wine and a german guy joined our tour. It was Lisi´s 2nd time and my first and I did enjoy it very much. I was not even scared or anything, probably because it was quite dark anyway...only fell a few times but that with all the works: sand everywhere, in my clothes, under my clothes, in my face, in my mouth etc. not so nice but worth it!! Lisi spent more time drinking the wine on top of the sand dune because her bum still hurted from the last time she went sandboarding! :-) It was a great experience though!
The next morning we got picked up by our "privat" tour driver Victor to swim in the Cejar Lagoons - a couple of lakes full of salt. Victor explained that it will be cold at the top but very hot at the bottom of this lakes. Fine. I jumped in and never felt worse in my life: It was absolutely freezing!!! I could not breath, I thought I have a heartattack here and then...apperently I screamed too but do not remember that. As soon as I put my feet down it was nice and warm but still remained cold on the surface. Very strange. I was relieved when Lisi jumped in and actually felt exactly the same. Of course, we did not stay too long in there because it was so cold. After that experience Victor wanted to take us where he never was before but it he said that we can nice pictures from there, a salt lake as well. Off we went in his Jeep. Unfortunately, we never got to the lake because half way there we got stuck in water, s***, mud whatever it was with his truck and guess what, we spent 2h!! yes 2h!! to get this bloody car out of there!! We were in the middle of desert, 30km away from the next possibility of contact. Luckily, there was a little stone building with some wood and stuff which looked like a place lived by canibales....bones and fur everywhere as well as some shoes and underware, really strange. Anyway, from there we got the stones and wood to put underneath the sinking back wheels of the car. Victor drove and we pushed all our energy into the car and out of us!! All 3, were close to believe that we will never get this car out of there!! You can not imagine how our clothes looked like but honestly, we did not care anymore about that because all we wanted was to be back in San Pedro as soon as possible. Even the pictures of the lake were no more important. Finally, after 2h Lisi drove the car out of the s*** because Victor decided to give it the last push....good, were we glad!! We almost cried because we were so happy that we made it!! Definitely an adventurous experience! Pictures will follow!
Next day, Victor picked us up again (yes again) because he wanted to treat us very well for the embarrasment the day before. We went to a lovely hot spring place in the mountains were we enjoyed the sun, the water and relaxed until early afternoon. So, now we are back in San Pedro and prepare ourselves for tomorrow´s trip to Bolovia, it will be very cold again. Shorts in the backpack, winter clothes out. Tonight, we will treat ourselves (maybe for the last time) with nice food and wine here in Chile!
