Hi all, First of all, happy easter, i hope you don't all get sick from eating too many easter eggs!! I won't be having any chocolate but i may have a cocktail or two as i relax on the beach in fiji! Since i last wrote we've finished our little road trip of new zealand and are nearly ready to move onto fiji!! After queenstown we carried on up the west coast taking in all the beautiful surroundings including franz josef, greymouth and nelson all of which were in the southern island. I can't believe how gorgeous it is here!! We then took the ferry (which made me extremely sick) from picton in the south island to Wellington in the North island. It was fun being in wellington i got to see where the premiere of lord of the rings was held and a few other spots form the movies, we also had a trip to the cinema ourselves to see v for vendetta... which i highly recommend! We then drove up country, first to taupo, where evey and i were supposed to do sky dives, i bottled it, then eveys got cancelled, so neither of us got to hurtle out of a plane at 12000 feet!!! GUTTED......NOT!!! Next was to rotorua, we spent a couple of hours at a polynesian thermal spa, it was really nice but for two days we had this lingering smell of sulpher on us...it was gross!! The next day was so much fun, we were up early as we were white water rafting, which i loved, although i'm battered and bruised. We went down this seven meter waterfall and luckily everyone in our boat managed to stay in it and the boat didn't flip, the other groups weren't that lucky! Evey did fall out at one point but the only time i got out was when i swam some of the rapids with the instructers. I definately want to try it again... i really enjoyed it! After such a big morning we had an easy afternoon by driving to matamata to see the set of hobbiton (lord of the rings). It was great ... i was in my element!! They used this guys farm for the set, and it was huge, his land went on forever, it was really interesting hearing all the behind the scenes spiel! i won't bore you with that now, as i reckon it will only be a few of you who want to know (lisa, dad, mia). i took plenty of photos though and loved pretending i was a hobbit! After such a great day it was back to auckland, where today we've spent doing laundry (we had no clean clothes left - i was in bikini bottoms for underwear), we also had to drop off doris althea alberkirkie (our trusty car for the past two weeks) Tomorrow we do a last couple of tourist things then head to the airport!!
