Hi all, Well here is my next update... after a heavy night in Auckland, Evey and i flew down to Chrsitchurch (the south island), we got a really early flight on the sunday so had the rest of the day on sunday to explore christchurch - which is really really beautiful! it was a very pretty town which looked like an English town! After our little walk around we headed back to the hostel for some chill out time - and guess who we bumped into..... will our roomate from south africa (we can't go anywhere!!) it was a very pleasant surprise though. We then had an evening of watching pimp my ride, legally blonde 2 and playing monoply with a group of 15 year olds who were staying there for a school trip! The next morning we were up early as our car was supposed to arrive - however it didn't and when we managed to get hold of the company they realised they had forgotten to drop it off! So they sent a taxi out to take us to the car place but it was all sorted and eventually we were on our way! Our first road trip was to take us from christchurch to queenstown via mt. cook and lake tekapo! It was the most scenic drive, i was gobsmacked that a country could be so beatiful, but it really is!! Every time we stopped my mouth would literally drop open! The drive took us 7 hours with me navigating and guess what i didn't get us lost once, there was no wrong turns or anything i was so pleased with my self! Over the past couple of days we've been doing lots of sight seeing, when went up on some cable cars to see the views over queenstown, we walked around the town, then today we headed off on a lord of the rings trail to arrow town and kawarau river, which was spectacular! (lisa/ dad - i honestly feel that i just need aragorn, gimli and legalos to be here - and of course you too) We went out for a couple of drinks last night, first to a bar which is minus 5 and made of ice, they have to give you lots of clothes and you can only stay for 30 mins and all the glasses are made of ice - it was freezing! Then we went to a bar that served its drinks in tea pots - i think there all crazy here! but its fun! Tomorrow we leave queenstown for fraz josef and to see some more sites from lord of the rings Missing you all wish you were here lots of love Danni xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ps - its so cold in new zealand - its not funny
