Singapore Sling OR Sling Singapore!!! I think drown singapore ! hahaha It wasn't that bad but the people were very rude! And there was alot of rascism there between the Indians and Chinese!
We stayed in Chinatown the first night at South East Asia Hotel where we experienced a Chinese breakfast which consited of rice and noodles, how do they stay so slim!!!! We woke up to a buzzing high street full of flower and food stalls..(not in our room of course!) We then moved to Little India where the people couldn't stop starring which we do look quite ruff at the moment after our Cyl\clone experience and too many late nights in Oz!!! hahaha No, the people are not used to westerners, especially blond ones hahaha poor Elaine!
We stayed in the Inn Crowd Backpackers where the staff were really helpful. Nice hostel and we met some nice lads from Cumbria...one of whom had broken his heel at a Full moon party! Whoops poor hop along!
We went on the drilliest City Sightseeing bus where the commentary was full of unuseful facts like...are you ready for these!!! The Singaporeans dry their washing out of their windows, imagine if a big gust of wind came along! Next it gets better, This is where this block of flats park their cars...wait for it..and here this block of flats has amenities beneath them, shops that sell grasseries (groceriers), post office where yu can send your parcels and oh wait for this one...a hairdressers where they can get their hair cut!!! Thanks tour guide!!! 5 HOURS later after getting off at a few stops! Why I don't know, we got an interesting tour guide who told us about the divide between races and cultural differences when it came to accepting other religions! The Indian settlers were not made to feel welcome by the Chinese and now they tolerate each other and its a 50/50 population split! Not how I imagined Singapore to be!
That evening we went out with the Cumbian lads to what we thought was a bar that turned into a indian lap dancing club hahaha we had alot of fun and spoke to the dancers and the kindof pervy men!!! The dancers made loads of money like they dop back home but no clothes are taken off, well from what we saw! All the women were married and led secret lives from their families. The pervy men said 'we are helping these women put food on the tables for their families!' Something I used to strongly disagree with seems to be something I can tolerate and not worry about, as these women have minds of their own and didn't come across as unhappy people and infact they really enjoyed themselves!
The men took us all to another bar where there was more "dancers' but this time with some gilrs who looked as young as some of my old students, I soon left as this wrecked my head and couldn't be bothered arguing with the now definatley pervy men! No excuse the men could give me, would make me understand this!
Hope you are all well! And not encouraging young girls to be apart of the sex industry!!!
