Malaysia is where I'm at people...from Singapore to Malacca or Melaka, however you spell it was somewhat of a bumpy ride, at one point on our ricketty bus with accidental reclining chairs, we flew up in the air for what seemed like a minut hahah it was an eventful journey! Melaka was a lovely stop over but thats all..quiet, historic and fairly peaceful...just what we needed after our indian lap dancing clubs!
We stayed at Sammy's Inn where the owner was weird to say the least...he was obsessed with sniffing my face and would beckon me like a dog for him to talk to me...he took a fancy to Elaine, he said to her 'please stay!' she wasn't tempted don't worry! I think he was a bit slow, so not at all harmful, god bless him...
We are now in Kuala Lumpur which in Aboriginal language means 'the devil'! I kinda see a resemblence but it isn't that bad haha...On a\our way here we experienced more shoke from the Asian people of Malaysia as I had a young boy of 16 stare at me for 2 hours whilst we made our way to KL. Elaine had an older guy peer over the chair at her whilst she was sleeping...this obviously freaked her out when she woke up...hahhaha I'm so evil but its kinda funny! I tried to sile at the young boy to engage in a conversation but he just starred not even an eye blink hahah...we are meeting some characters...but then he suddenly go up and undid my curtains so the sun wasn't blarring through the window onto me, which was very sweet.
That evening was eventful also as I wanted to speak to my mum, so I bought a phone card that I found out after an hour of trying 10 different phone boxes, that it could only be used on a landline. So I had o use a phone from the shop and take it to a phone line hanging outside the shop, where loads of Gambians congregated loudly, and had a pleasant but not private conversation with my mum hahah
I had a dream last night...yeh yeh like most people... but I dreamt I had witnessed a murder and these hairy faced guys were after me...they caught me and drowned me in a big tank of water holding my right arm to push me under...I felt pressure like my eyes were going to pop out of my head...then I woke up with a dead right arm hahaha... I love relating my dreams to real life and I had had a conversation the day before about the killing of cats here in Malaysia, as you can hear them screaming in the alley at night as they drown them!!! sick I know, nothing I can do about it though! But thats obviously where my dream came from!
We have booked our flight to Phuket, Thailand, for tomorrow morning, where we will begin our next adventure of the Thai Islands..can't wait. We are really excited and we can't wait to get our tans back and meeting up with people we've met along our ways etc...we were discussing this at lunch today, along with how much we want to go back to Oz and that we are not really looking forward to getting jobs and stuff back in England, basically having a moan (being ungrateful one might say) when this guy who we found out later was from Iraq, came into the cafe. He was in a wheelchair and struggled (like most non-able bodied people do in South Asia do) to get up the stair to the seating the staff didn't help him but this one passerby lifted his chir for him as he walked with his sticks. He sat just down from us and struck up a conversation with us and passed Elaine a leaflet which nearly brought her to tears. He had lost all of his family due to the war on Iraq, apart from one daughter who is has been kidknapped! He has been exiled, he showed us his cut up passport and red cross through his face. This alarmed me slightly as I was thinking what has he done to be exiled! But what ever had happened he was a very unhappy lonely man, who didn't deserve the sad life he had been dealt!
Sometimes we forget how lucky we are and take life and the things we have for granted! I have definately been very ungrateful in the past and sometimes it cant be helped as I naturally take things for granted. But I am definately starting to have a different outlook on life. This is one of the reasons why I know its not time for me to come back to England for a long time! (I'm coming back to say hi and goodbye) I still have so much to see and experience. Helping people is something I intend to do whether its, young offenders, aborigonies or volunteering in South America, but for now England is not for me.
Missing you all and can't wait to catch up with you...will have to start planning when I will see you all, as I am only going to be back for about a month before I leave you all again.
Lotsa love Danielle
