I took a flight to the capital of Laos -Vientiane. Once I landed I took a taxi to the bus station and jumped into a minibus for the four hour journey to Vang Vieng. Thankfully the bus was already nearly full so I didn't have to wait too long for the bus to leave as buses in SEA never leave until they are completely full. It was a bumpy ride but everyone was very friendly offering around sweets and food. The man sat next to me held a tiny baby which didn't cry once the whole way which was incredible given how bumpy the road was as we were constantly flung out of our seats. When the baby was awake I kept saying hello to her in Lao and she would screw her face up which gave everyone a good laugh. We passed lots of pretty villages along the way. We arrived in town early evening but the man from the project wasn't home so I checked into a guesthouse nearby. I purposely chose a guesthouse just out if town so that it would be peaceful.
