The journey from Vang Vieng to Vientiane was not what we expected. We booked a bus for 8, the guy from the agency turns up around that time and once at the time take us to a parking lot were we should be waiting for our bus to come any minute. We got stuck there for over 2 hours sitting outside an hairdresser shop. By that time we were quite annoyed and bored. Luckily a private mini van appears from nowhere, still no trace of our bus, so with more than 2 hours delay we left Vang Vieng. We get the 3 sits at the back so we can try and get some sleep, however the driver decides that this is not the case by hitting every hole on the bumpy road and turning up the music very loud.

Almost 2 in the morning and we reach our final destination, however we are in the middle of nowhere and we need to find our guesthouse, not so easy. We wave at the only tuk tuk around that really slowly take us to the wrong guesthouse, is the third time in 30 days, so I'm now used to it. The guy from this guesthouse take pity on us and again one by one take us to the right place with his scooter.

The guesthouse is worse than expected and our room really stinks.... plus I'm the only girl in this 8 bed dorm :'(

Finally morning, time to explore Vientiane, we are not really impressed especially after all the green and beautiful scenery of northern Laos.

After all the walking around we decide that we deserve something special, so we opt for a sort of Japanese restaurant were you can also cook your food. Something different for sure, not so sure about the result but definitely something new.

Back at the guesthouse after a cocktail and my visa is waiting for me, Vietnam here I come, but not before visiting 4000 islands.
