EU day. We started the morning listening to a presentation at the European Commission. The speaker was interesting and funny, albeit a bit disheveled. Long lunch, parliamentarium. European Parliament- slides and head bobs. Chez Leon and jeanakkin pis.

Today with little sleep and even less knowledge of the city, we dropped our luggage at the Ibis hotel in Brussels and had 5 hours to kill before our rooms would be ready. We traipsed around this beautiful (COLD!) city with glassy eyes and bed heads. Virtually everyone was lost for hours and I'm sure tempers were short. I finally gave up dragging myself around at noon. I just finished writing a brilliant first journal entry but when I hit post, it disappeared and took me back to the log in page. GRRRR! Basically, what started as a long plane ride ended as a long plane ride. I had a staring contest with the smash, throw and destroy baggage handler loading our plane.
