After going to a Wicked to get the camper checked (which only took a few minutes, so I can't imagine they did much!) we spent the day in Brisbane. Woke up this morning having parked on a ridiculously steep hill, so we were both at one end of the van! Got up and drank cuos of Tetley tea with Marianne and Neil and talked for an hour or two. They were in Thailand when the tsunami hit and were telling us about it. Sounded so scary, haven't met anyone who was actually there before. We left them and set out for Brisbane. Spent the morning on the campsite talking to the guy parked next to us in a battered old green camper van. He was an Aussie pensioner who was a bit of an old hippy - smoking weed all the time. He's in the area as its Nimbin's 'Mardis Grass' festival next weekend, he's from Adelaide. We helped him put some tint on his back window - which wasa very long drawn out process, especially as he kept breaking every so often to have a toke on his 'cone' !! he wasa nic...

Drove a couple of kms to a parking /picnic area so we could walk to the base of Minyon Falls. There's a look out point by the car park that looks over the top of the falls and you can see for miles and miles across the valley - all forest. We walked to the base, very windy and steep trek, and had a picnic by the waterfall which was lovely, then headed back up. Took us just under 4 hours (half hour for lunch) - 9kms!!
