Got themorning flight from Cairns yesterday to Auckland. Went for a few drinks with some blokes in our hostel last night. Today we wandered around Auckland in the rain. We both love it. Its a bit hilly in parts, the gorgeous Albert Park by the art gallery and uni is a lovely city park. Its Autumn here so we're treated to the trees turning yellow, red and orange. It feelsa bit european with some of the architecture, quite stylish but definitely with its own character. And very friendly. The art gallery has lots of lovely Maori and colonial cheifs' portraits. There's a definite sense of intergration that I didn't get from the gallery in Sydney. But this is our first day so we'll see.... The Auckland comedy festival is on at the moment so we went to see a show. Actually the only kiwi was the host, but it was really good. A Welsh guy and an English guy who were both hilarious. Think the English guy was called Addy Van der Burgh.
