Dan and Lu's Travels
Thought we'd spend the day at the beach today. We drove back down to Seal Rocks, so called because in the summer Australian fur seals come here.
We went to another beach on the other side of Sugarloaf Point lighthouse (lovely name!). This was empty apart from a surf class just about to start. So we sat and watched them. The sand looked like golden creamy fudge and was really fine.
We built a sandcastle, quite ambitiously styled on Angkor Wat...
After walking up to the lighthouse we went round to the other beach and drove onto a campsite (proper one) as I wanted to go to the toilet. As I came back to the van a rough Aussie guy threatened to call the police if we ever entered this campsite again and to move it immediately. Which I thought was a bit of an over reaction. .. So we left.
Went and sat on the beach for a few hours then got back to our rest area before dusk. We had a lovely meal of tomato soup, charcoal bread (its so much better than toast, honest) and red wine, sat at a picnic table - while it was still light!
