Dan and Lu's Travels
Got a mini van from Hat Yai then onto the most spacious and luxurious coach I've ever been on, bound for Singapore. Only took a few hours to reach the border of Malaysia.
As the hours went by the bus air conditioning went berserk. We were in a fridge on wheels. Everyone was shivering and there was condesatoin on the OUTSIDE. I don't know what Tina Turner would've made of that.....
We stopped for food but we only had a few Malaysian notes so Dan got a halal dish (its mainly Muslim in Malaysia) which is the first thing I've ever seen him not eat up. He said it was the worst thing he's eaten since we've been away.
We got to Kuala Lumpur about midnight, just to drop people off, but it looked impressive - huge skyline.
When we were leaving the toll booth out of Kuala Lumpur I was suprised by the huge signs everywhere that proclaimed 'Say No To Porn". I don't know whether this was specifically aimed at all drivers or people who leave KL or what the relationship between toll booths and porn was but it was intrigueing nonetheless.
Also, approaching a toll road toll booth, why do I always have to fight the urge to give the driver spare change? ....
