Melbourne:

We arrived in Melbourne after our camper van trip and straight away loved the city. A really arty city and really easy to get around in. We met up with April, one of Becky;s best friends who has been living in Oz for the past 3 years. She even kindly let us stay at her flat for a couple of weeks! Whilst in Melbourne we met up with Carrie and Selina again and went to the Australian Open with them. We just can't get rid of those bloody Welsh girls, honestly!! We watched a few games with the highlight being watching the Williams sisters play in the doubles. They are some seriously big ladies!! We were even entertained by a streaker who ran onto the court ran around a bit, all the ball boys and security just watched him. The Williams sisters were in hysterics as were the rest of the crowd, the streaker was completely thrown that he was not being tackled so did a little dance then ran down the players tunnel, leaving the tennis players and the spectators laughing their socks off!! We also went and watched Australia lose to New Zealand in the one day international cricket at the MCG. This was an eye opener for Becky as the crowd became quiet lively towards the evening stint of cricket - unsure as to the reasons why?! We did the touristy thing and hired a car and visited Ramsey street and even did a lap of the Australian Grand Prix each in our hired Toyota Getz. We both really enjoyed our time in Melbourne apart from not finding any part time work to help fund the trip, boo! We said Goodbye to Becky's friend April and from here we flew to Alice Springs.
