well cant you tell how fabulous my spanish is already folks! I have been trying very hard and did manage to make myself understood asking for the supermarket, only difficulty is i cant understand the response. lots of hand gestures indicated it was just down the road and we did find it. who wouldve thought claire that our wee spanish class in gosforth would actually come in handy. have been driving maddy insane by asking her lots of "how do i say that in spanish" questions. i think that may be come annoying after a while but she doesnt mind, i think. my favourite phrase so far is sorry, i don´t understand.
had a good new year in cusco, they sell lots of fireworks on the streets and people were chucking them, literally around the place. a touch scary. and then we went onto a club for some peruvian dancing and pisco sours! here another few days and start the inka trail on monday so looking forward to that and then thinking of heading down to puno to go see lake titicaca and on to bolivia. were trying to convince mads to stay with us as our own personal translator!

William ¿Dónde está la barra de is the main phrase you need to know!!! Huancayo is about 230 miles from Lima and apparently it is the highest train journey in the world to get there (I need to get out more!!). You may learn this while on the Inca trail but the tribe in Huancayo are known as the w***as'. How much fun could you have winding the tour guide up when he's talking about this tribe??
