Well we eventually made it to Russia I mean Nha Trang I mean Russia, oh hell I dont know where we are! It looks like Vietnam but all we seem to be able to see and hear is Russians, Russian people, Russian shops, Russian signs and all menus in Russian.....but no Im sure we are in Nha Trang....I think!
Well I think its fair to say Nha Trang is definatly a favoured beach holiday destination for Russians, not too sure why there seem to be so many, to the point that your lucky if you can see a sign written in English. Enough said on the Russian contingent
Nha Trang is another big city, its not quite what either of us expected, its a lot bigger and a lot busier, there are lots of really high rise hotels and fancy restaurants, the beach is 6K long so there is plenty of places to sit and have a beach day, which we managed to do. We arrived here at like 7:30 in the morning and again the bus pulled up outside the bus company ticket office which just so happend to have a guest house attatched to it, this could work out well if we keep getting the same bus company and they have guesthouses attatched to every one, easy work for us two sleepy lazy travellors! The man that was showing us the guest house, Tom, was the funniest nicest man, I tried to haggle him down in price but the salesman in him would only budge a dolla, he told me I had to keep it hush hush from the other guests, funny funny man.
On our first day here we just walked around to see what Nha Trang has to offer...not much, we thought we had walked far enough to get to the museum but after about an hour walking we realised we were not even half way there, like I said this place is pretty big. We decided to ditch the culteral tour for the day and head to the train station to ask about a train to Hoi An which is our next stop, but it turns out the only train they have is 26 hours long!!! We have no idea why as the bus only takes 10 hours, needless to say we are getting the bus, its 7pm until 6 or 7am most likely, but hopefully we will get some sleep.
We had decided whilst we were here we would set the challenge of eating the cheapest thing we could, as most of our money goes on food, when your eating in restaurants for 3 meals a day it quickly adds up, and the idea was quite fun, so we have eaten in ever night, its been awsome! We walked around and got sandwhiches, big sweetcorns which we are addicted to, Morrisons sweetcorn had better watch out when we get back! We managed to save bout £50, and it was really nice just getting a little picnic and staying in watching movies, I know it probably sounds really boring but maybe we are :)
We decided to treat ourselves to a mud spa with the money we had saved, it was a really great day. We got picked up and taken to a huge spa, really busy. You have to share your bath with other people but it didnt matter, we all got on and had a giggle, after your times up and you have washed all the mud off in the outdoor showers you then get some time in a really warm mineral water bath. When all your baths and showers are over you can go and sit by the pool and have a swim until your bus, it was really hot so we decided to have a dip in the gorgeous big blue pool, only to find it was hot! hot like a bath hot, almost too hot! not necessarly what you want, a hot pool in a very hot country!
So we are off to Hoi An tonight, another new place, we have looked at the weather and its set to rain, I think we are in for a wet few weeks for the reast of Vietnam, good job we have over 4 weeks in Thialand still to come :)
