Today, was my favourite, we headed north to the foot of the Golan Heights where we arrived in Nazareth and visited the Church of the Annunciation where Mary received word from God that she would conceive his son.We also visited the house of Simon Peter and the town of Jesus- Capernaum where the ruins were amazing. We also went to the Monastery at Tabgha, where the rock is kept where Jesus stood and did the miracle of the loaves and fishes.Five churches have since been built over this site and the only remaining mosaic from the first church showing a basket of loaves and a fish either side has survived nearly 2000 years. An alter has been built over this sacred site for all to see.We then proceeded to the Sea of Galilee and paddled in there for a while, I collected some sea shells from the water. Our last visit for the day was to Yerdenit where the River Jordan flows into the sea of Galilee and where John the Baptist baptised the faithfull.A very holy place. On our way back, we passed Magdela where Mary Magdalene lived, Cana where Jesus performed the Miracle of turning water into wine and Mount Tabour where Moses was transfigured after meeting with God.A place of miracles - the Sea of Galilee where Jesus walked on water and made his disciples fishers of men.
A truly unforgettable day of wonderful experiences.
