Up at 4 am! Hello! What a way to start our holiday! But that was what was required to get us to our Singapore Airlines flight in decent time. We duly got all things packed into the cases and loaded them into the car, said our farewells to Ted and set sail for the airport. Left the car at Airport Security Parking, which is about 75 metres walk from the terminal and made our way to checkin. Just as well we were bright and early because Jase had forgot to print off their ESTA forms which are the new electronic entry requirements for the USA! Thank God for iPhones as we quickly accessed the website and found the registration numbers we needed - phew! Then the poor girl on the checkin desk booked our bags straight through to Los Angeles, so there was a good deal of panic before our luggage tags were reprinted and someone was despatched to put them on our cases which by now had disappeared out the back! Fingers seriously crossed that they appear on the carousel when we stop in Singapore!
After grabbing a cuppa and filling in the departure cards we went through customs and I claimed back the GST on my iPad, then it was passed security and into the departure lounge where we got some reading matter and duly boarded our plane.
Having never flown with Singapore Airlines before we were keen to experience their renowned service - and we weren't disappointed! Heaps of leg room and a great entertainment system made the flight much more enjoyable and the meals were excellent. Just hope our plane to the USA tomorrow is as comfy!
