Left home in pouring rain this morning and it continued to pour all the way to Perth and the Airport. Managed to get a parking spot outside the terminal doors to chuck our bags onto the footpath and let Katie go and park the car. We had left in plenty of time but the driving conditions were so bad we had only a bare 45 minutes until our flight left. 
It did not take long for us to get checked in and get through security, but we still only had a couple of minutes to get some magazines and say farewell to Katie before our flight was called.
QF580 was a Boeing 747 and we had 2 seats by themselves at the back end and had heaps of room each side of us, which made the flight very enjoyable.
Got into Sydney on time (raining there as well!) and caught a shuttle to our hotel close by. The room was tiny but it was clean and all we needed for the overnight stay.
We had a bite to eat and then off to bed early ready to head for the USA.
