SINGAPORE

Once we had eaten our meal (and drunk a couple of glasses of Chardy), Mumsie and I put back the seats, raised the leg rests and proceeded to sleep like babies for about six hours! So good to be able to stretch out!
The flight was totally smooth and peaceful and before we knew it, the lights came back on, breakfast was served (very odd because it was now 3pm Singapore time) and then we were on the ground in Singapore!
After collecting our bags we got a taxi to our hotel - the Swissotel The Stamford - and checked in to our fantastic 48th floor room which had two queen sized beds!!! Bit different to some of the two and three star places we stayed in on tour I can certainly tell you! The view out over Marina Bay and the Singapore Flyer was terrific!
We had a shower and went for a wander, stopping to have a quiet drink and then found a snack in the food court in the monstrous shopping centre next to the hotel!
Even though we had slept for quite a while on the plane we were still feeling a bit jet lagged and so we stayed up for as long as possible and then hit the sack!
