Day Five and we spent the day doing some more exploring, braving the Metro to get to the Lourve - we only went 2 stops in the wrong direction before realising our mistake - and then seeing the Opera House before finishing at Galleries Lafayette. The shops there were all ultra exclusive and we soon headed back to our digs to do some laundry. Tomorrow we are off out into the country again to visit the Champagne Wine Region on a guided tour!

Had a very early start this morning as we caught a taxi over to the Rue de Pyramides to start our tour to the Somme Battlefields.It wasn't a good start as the taxi driver was the rudest arse you could imagine and it took all my will power not to abuse the crap out of him! AND the 4.5km ride cost us €17.5!! There were 20 of us on the tour - 18 Aussies and 2 Americans - and we set out on the 2 hour drive in a small coach with an English girl as our guide....

 Day One in Paris and we walked over to Notre Dame and caught the Hop on/ Hop off bus and started a tour. Got off at the Place de Concorde and walked the entire 2kms of the Champs élysées up to the Arc de Triumphe, all of us sneezing violently because of the pollen from the trees! The alarm went off at 5am and it was a very quick shower before putting our cases out at 5.30am and being in the foyer soon after to collect a breakfast box. We then boarded the coach for our transfer to Zagreb Airport - Gasper again showing his his great manner by accompanying the 10 of us just to make sure everything went smoothly! We checked our cases in for the Croatian Airlines flight and then had an hour or so to kill, so we had a coffee and wandered about ...

We started our last day by doing a bus tour of the city sights - some very old and historic places to see - before joining a local guide for a walking tour of the older part of Zagreb. There were some lovely old buildings, lots of cobbled streets and the usual churches, but the hour passed quickly enough and then we had some free time to have a coffee and a look at the shops.
