And we're off !

Arriving in London at around 4.00pm local time, we couldn't wait to get started on our excursion. Sailing through immigration with no problems, we found ourselves on the express to Paddington station, onto the Bakerloo line and then to the Jubilee line for Canning Town station.

Lol found the peak hour crush an interesting experience, as the doors opened on the last train to a mass of humanity, squished in like sardines. Helped onboard with a shove from me (there's always room for one more...), we managed to make it just that little bit more squishy (although my backpack did receive a belt from the closing door). At least we were on....

Finally getting to hotel about 7.00pm, we were fairly shattered. Interestingly, it isn't getting dark here until about 9.30 - 10.00pm in the evening, but light again at about 4.00am, it makes for a long day!
