Okay, so we're now seven and a half hours into the bus ride. We just left Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, which turned out to be quite a bizarre place. Much like La Paz in Bolivia, it's surrounded by mountains, and sort of comes at you from nowhere. The centre of it seems very Americanized with modern looking shopping malls and several chain restaurants, but then rising up all around it are what look like shanti towns.
