Today we walked to a nearby Underground station and rode down to Victoria Station, then walked to Buckingham Palace. I think every tourist in London was there! Huge, huge throngs of people everywhere you looked. We got some great views of the guards, and stumbled onto the Horse Guards as they left the area. Even with the huge crowds, we had a great time hanging around the Palace area for more than an hour. Then we walked to Trafalgar Square, and enjoyed the pigeo...

On Sunday our hosts brought a wonderful breakfast of fruit, cereal, croissants, and coffee to our room at 9am. We headed out around 10:30, and caught a double-decker open-top tour bus near the Marble Arch at 11am. We stayed on the bus for an hour or so, getting a good overview of the city. We hopped off at the Tower of London, and checked out the Tower Bridge and the area along the Thames near there. We then took a boat ride back down the Thames to Westminster Br...

We arrived in London Saturday at Noon after many hours in the air. We spent Saturday dragging our luggage to our B&B apartment, then traipsing around the Oxford Circus area surrounded by throngs of tourists and weekend shoppers. The weather was spectacular, and from what the Londoners said it was the first nice weather of the season, so everyone was out to enjoy it. We had a late afternoon meal at the Slug and Lettuce, down the street from our apartment.
