Here's a quick update from Venice.... We arrived in a driving rainstorm! Check out the video section to see some video from our arrival at Marco Polo airport in Venice. After arrival, there was a one-hour boatride to Venice, where we got soaked running to our apartment. Our very cool apartment is right on the canal, with a view out to the waterfront. It's a short 10-minute walk to St Mark's square, and there are great food options all around us. The first night we grabbed a pizza to go from down the street (across the canal). Our only real sightseeing day in Venice we visited the Accademia art museum, which is full of Venetian art from the 1300s and 1400s. Amazing! We also visited the Rialto bridge, and spent some time just wandering through the streets. Dinner was a little weird when we tried branching out too much into local cuisine... big mistake. It rained again our second night in Venice, but we took a gondola ride through the canals anyway, and it was really nice.
