We took a 4 hour bus ride today to Ica. The Cruz del Sur bus lines are really nice. Very comfortable seats, movies, bathrooms, and food served. The ride was actually pretty good. We heard from Sivanne who went on this bus line too and she said her ride to Huaraz was great. The weather stayed cloudy and grey for the first two hours but then it started to clear up as we got further south and higher up to the desert area. Sunshine!

After arriving in Ica we took a taxi to the nearby oasis of Huacachina. Such a beautiful place. There is a pretty lagoon surrounded by the biggest sand dunes I have ever seen. The village/resort is kind of 50's retro with a sort of faded, neglected look but there were lots people there and lots of activities going on around the dunes in the afternoon hours. We found our hotel and did the 10 minute stroll around the lagoon to orient ourselves. After that we knew where every restaurant and hotel was already.
