Well what a start. Yesterday we drove from Vallego to further into Napa Valley. We stopped at a beautiful winery and did some tastings with cheeses. Amazing place was a replica of French chateau and then a bit of a drive around a few others. We next stopped for a coffee..wow we thought we had bought more wine with the price of the coffee!!! $17 for 2 lattes n two little donuts..whattt .
Next stop was off to Jess's favorite jellybeans factory...Jelly Belly's..address is 1 jelly belly Lane. Huge place, self guided free tour, factory not running but could still see all the equipment etc. Nice gift shop store with of course tons jelly bellys..
Off to Walmart late afternoon for some bits. Then finally a little motel for the night.
Today..Sunday here. Up and out for quick break at the local Maccas... Cheap but getting worse! And it's the only time we eat is over here!! Today we go to Turtle Bay in Redding CA. Here we walk across the Sundial bridge with its glass floor and huge sail shape. It spans over the Sacramento river. It is all part of a huge park area full of wonderful gardens and wildlife..was warm and sunny out walking around. We just missed a large car show event that had been on all weekend...so now ray is looking for any others that may be on the way up to Seattle:-D
After stretching our legs for a good while we are on our way to Burney Falls where we are tonight. We get here around 4. It's gotten colder as we have been driving going higher and higher into mountain lion country..here there is still snow capping the mountains and we are at 4000 feet above sea level and it's drizzling.bbbrrrr . we find the Falls and they are totall worth the hike down and back up. No mountain lions but some amazing trees and falls. We are staying in a wonderful little cabin like place with very nice staff. We had dinner at a small Indian casino here in Burney. Tomorrow we are off to mount Shasta and crater lake national park...till then cheers
