So, into the last few days now - currently staying on Railay which is a peninsular not too far from Krabi and Phuket. You can only get here by boat as there are no roads (the cliffs make it impossible to build a road) and therefore it feels a bit like an island. The scenery is much the same as elsewhere in this part of the world but the absence of cars and bikes makes for a really good change. Its all chill out bars, bob marley and rave music in the evenings plus the usual flood of loafers - its funny the last time I saw people dancing on the spot waving their arms around to nosebleed techno, it was 1990 and everyone had dogs on string - I was wondering where they all went and now i know....still the beach here is beautiful and its great to soak up the last bit of sun before heading back to the cold - its really hot here but in a strange way I'm looking forward to some cold weather - also the fan in my room is so noisy you can't have it on at night. I think I'm starting to moan a bit more, probably a sign of almost going home. Had the chance to do some kayaking which was great to get out to some smaller islands, saw loads of monkeys, also did some snorkelling - the water is really clear. Altogther its a pretty amazing place, probably apreciated a great deal more when I'm getting up in the freezing rain to go to work at 8am, great.......
