Transit day today. Got off the ship in San Juan about 9am and taxi to airport then a long wait for flight to Miami at 1.25pm. Another 2 hour wait for next flight to Montego Bay, Jamaica where we arrived about 7.15pm. All smooth sailing till now then Alan's case didn't quite make it onto the plane in Miami so had to fill in forms and it will arrive on the first flight from Miami tomorrow. When we were in the lost luggage queue a local Jamaican said "have you lost your luggage - welcome to Jamaica mon"
Hubert (caretaker guide) there to meet us and drove us to Reef Watch House about 35km from MoBay. We are staying in a rustic house in a small Jamaican village where we are the only non locals so should be great experience.
As Hubert settled us in with heaps of "yeah mon" and "no problems mon" (they really do speak like that naturally) we could tell we were going to have a great time and experience true Jamaican daily life which is something most of the "resort tourists" never experience
So off to bed now in anticipation of our adventure starting tomorrow.
