We saw the town in the distance. The horizon looked like an expanse of ant hills and there appeared to be a fire there. On closer inspection the fire turned out to be a working mine with dust streaming from the machinery. Day 2, leaving Grandma’s house, destination Port Augusta. After a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs we headed west towards Renmark. A detour was necessary across the Murray just to say we have been in three states in one day (it didn’t take us twelve hours). Our heads and hearts are full of mixed emotions this morning. This was supposed to be another incredible 82cape adventure with the 8 of us, but instead, we are leaving as a crew of 4. Heading to Mildura tomorrow

We left Bermagui with the promise of returning very soon and headed down the highway towards home. I couldn't wait to see Melissa and Adrian and to give them the biggest of hugs. After 79 days and 12,697kms WE ARE HOME!!! We travelled to some amazing and spectacular places in this beautiful country of ours.
