We've had a brilliant 4 days here. Strathalbyn is a Quaint town with charming antique shops and funky homeware. Beautiful old buildings and pubs only a stroll from the caravan park. We visited Hahndorf easily from here, such a scenic easy drive and no traffic! Hahndorf is a quirky German village, where the German settlers came in the 1800's and built their own community. It's great to see and feel this strong influence still today. We especially enjoyed the sweet shop and pub! Girls loved the strawberry picking on the way home! Def ate more than we picked!
Best thing about this place was defiantly catching up with the " Gourlay's" we had such a laugh. After a day of, "a bit of lifting n shifting" we all deserved a drink so off to " The Greenman Inn" for dinner and a few drinks, great value for money the food was delicious and enormous. The Pub is surrounded by lovely rolling hills that don't look real! We spent the next day at Goolwa markets then horseshoe bay beach which was just perfect on a hot day. The water was refreshing and just enough surf for the girls to enjoy on their boards. After staying here, Mikayla wants a pony! She loved Melissa's horse Buddy but was more excited about her Pony Alsorts. Alsorts is so cute and lives at the bottom of the garden, brilliant!
We are also all stocked up with fresh homegrown Giant zucchini, fresh herbs, peaches and tomatoes. Can't wait to start our own veggie patch.
