We apologise in advance for this blog which will not really tell you much about Nha Trang…………reason being we didn't see any of it ourselves!
After arriving on the sleeper train from Ho Chi Minh we both felt pretty awful so Jack had said he would take us to the International Clinic to get more antibiotics to help us feel better. We went pretty much straight to the hospital upon arrival hoping to get our drugs and get out of there…………no such luck!
Doctor examined both of us and informed us we both had bad fevers. We had to get blood taken for tests to make sure it was nothing serious along with antibiotic injections for Craig.Following this we were both taken upstairs and put onto drips to rehydrate us which lasted for approximately 7 hours! We were both now panicking a bit because the hospital was disgusting with not even any soap or toilet paper in loo's!
We decided we needed to get out of the hospital and back to the hotel so Craig went down to speak to the doctor and get the travel insurance sorted out so we could leave. The Insurance worked really well so all the treatment only cost us a small excess which was a relief!
Next morning we had to go back to the clinic at 6am.We thought that we were going to be put onto another drip each but luckily we were given our antibiotics, Craig given 2 more injections (one of which was horrendous and didn't go in properly first time round) and we were sent on our way.Despite feeling better in the morning Laura had a really rough day after the hospital. She had a real temperature and couldn't keep any food down at all which was a real worry for us!Luckily by the evening she managed to keep down a couple of yoghurts which was a small positive but still felt very ill!
We were leaving Nha Trang that night on another overnight sleeper train which this time wasn't so nice!We still had the 2 bunks in a private cabin however this time they were second class which basically meant used sheets which were disgusting - Craig's had blood among many other stains - thank god for our sleeping bag liners because we weren't lying on those sheets!
Straight to sleep on the noisy train and really praying for a change of luck after 2 awful days in Nha Trang.Train arriving tomorrow morning in Hoi An which is the tailoring capital of the world - only 80,000 people live there but over 400 tailor shops so even hoping the promise of a tailored dress might lift Laura's spirits!
