Left Phnom Penh early in the morning for 6 hour bus trip to Sihanoukville, Cambodia's Beach Resort.Weather ok when we arrived but within an hour rain had started and continued to get heavier all day although still stayed warm - not like back home.Everyone in group disappointed as we were all sitting with swimwear on ready to go to the beach - typical!Went for lunch in local beach bar - food pretty nasty and lots of flies about so didn't eat much.Not a lot to do in a beach resort with torrential rain so went for afternoon nap in our beach hut!

Went out that night for group dinner to a BBQ restaurant.Food was really good, Laura had BBQ Chicken and Craig had Marlin which was actually pretty tasty!Headed out for $1 beers and cheap cocktails at Monkey Republic - a really cool wooden building with a bar, guest house and cinema room.Stayed there for couple of hours then went to after hours club called Utopia which was actually pretty dead by the time we got there.Club had a swimming pool inside and plenty of ladyboys!!One fancied a piece of Craig but Laura was having none of it nearly pushing him/her into the swimming pool!Left after 1 drink and headed to bed before boat trip to Bamboo Island in the Gulf of Thailand in morning.

Got great weather for our boat trip which everyone was happy about!Boat was not exactly modern with the engines tied on with ropes but it seemed to do the trick!Spent about an hour getting out towards the Island before stopping to go snorkeling and swimming - water was like a bath!Really hot when we arrived on the island which was like paradise with very few people except locals and us!Had BBQ on the beach which was probably the best food we've had since we got here - chicken kebabs, rice and salad, doesn't sound much but the rice in Cambodia is absolutely delicious!Spent the rest of afternoon playing in sea with the local kids, sunbathing and relaxing! Craig got sun burned - what a shock but in his defence our guide who is black and from Cambodia also got sunburned which shows you how warm it was.Got some great photos which will make you all jealous.

Got back to our beach hut around 4pm - Craig had a cold shower and went to bed as he was so hot and didn't go out that night for dinner, just stayed at the resort. Laura went for dinner on beach with the group and as it was the last day of a national festival in Cambodia firework displays rounded of the night!

Off to Vietnam tomorrow - don't know what to expect but should be good!We have really enjoyed Cambodia and would recommend it to anyone although a quick travel tip……. bring plenty of sanitizer products and your own toilet roll!!
