Monday was our first big ride after our two 35k warm up rides on Saturday and Sunday. We'd planned an 80k ride today, but in the end we rode over 90 to the town of Kampong Cham. Today was the day we all knew would come. Close to 100km in the heat and mud that bike wheels struggled to get through. We had hills, we had hot pavement...you name it, we had it. By the time we hit the lunch stop there were definitely people feeling dejected and broken. Best part of the day was watching the team rally around those that needed a push and get them through the ride. People that had never met before putting aside their desire to get out of the heat...

Today was hot and arduous. Really hot, and humid, and a very long day in the saddle. Those who know me know I ride a lot, and in some pretty crazy conditions and I can tell you it was a pretty solid day for me also. Which makes me even more impressed with the fortitude and perseverance of each and everyone of my friends (some new, some long standing) as they faced the miles and various obstacles on the road today.
