Hello everyone
Our road trip around the rest of Ireland was cool :) The highlight being the Giant's Causeway - don't worry if you haven't been there we have hundreds of photos to show you...
We had a busy week in Birmingham getting everything organised to leave the UK and saying goodbye to our friends there. It was good to see everyone before we left. We miss you all boo hoo...
Egypt is really awesome! It is so hot here - like 40 degrees every day. We still love it though - as long as we don't spend too long in the sun! On our first day here we went to Giza to see the Pyramids and the Sphinx which we both thought were amazing. We also went to Saqqara where we went inside an ancient tomb. The heiroglyphics are still on the walls. Lynnie managed to bargain for a toy camel and even the tour guide thought she got a bargain! When we were at the Pyramids Lynnie went on a camel ride. The camel was called Moses. She loved it. Courtney was too chicken (they are higher off the ground than you would think and not all that stable getting up and down!!) Our tour guide told us that to buy a donkey is only about 400 - 600 Egyptian Pounds (about 100 NZD) and now Lynnie wants one of those.
That night we went on an overnight train to Luxor. It was a lot better than we had expected it to be as we were in first class. We got a lot of sleep considering we were on a train. We only woke up about 4 times and then when we were handed our breakfast box at 7am. We arrived into Luxor at 7.30ish and checked into our (5 star) hotel - it is sooooo nice. At 9.30 we left to visit the Valley of the Kings. It was awesome but you aren't allowed to take pictures there so we don't have any of that to show you. We had the afternoon to relax at the hotel which was nice as we went for a swim to cool off.
Today we went to the Karnak temple which is amazing but it was hotter than any other day. We have both drunk more water in the last 3 days than we do in a month at home. Now we are in our hotel waiting (7 hours) until we get the overnight train back to Cairo tonight.
Tomorrow we are going to the Egyptian Museum where we will see mummies (not Kay and Lynda) he he
See you in a few days :) (but not if you live in Birmingham...)
Lynnie and Court xoxo
