Our morning was spent watching highlights from the Grands Prix and Champions League while desperately filling our bodies with liquids to revive them. By around noon this was finally accomplished and we headed out for some lunch. We headed to a restaurant specialising in Western Chinese cuisine and happily discovered that 'Toothpick' dishes are far tamer away from the West and happily filled our bellies. Dave and Alan headed out for presents for Jo while I headed for an internet cafe. There I got a sudden reminder that despite our previous nights' activities we were still in China when I had to have my passport scanned before I could use a computer. Big Brother obviously fancied a check on what I was up to!
In the late afternoon we headed across to Jo's for a fantastic BBQ and to compare notes from the previous evening. The burgers were homemade and the chicken fantastically marinated by Jo's betrothed, Farah (sorry if I've spelt that wrong!), and we had a good last evening chatting away. We truly stuffed ourselves (apparently before Shanghai Dave and I had looked like we lost weight so it was for Mrs Henderson's benefit really!) then headed to a sports bar to catch the Sunderland match on sattelite TV. We had a good chat and toasted the end of our stay in Shanghai. We had enjoyed a respite from the stresses of travelling and not knowing the language by having Alan and Jo around but Dave and I both felt it was time for us to get moving again and see some more of the country.
