Once a week was never a realistic target, lets settle on new resolution from now on, blog randomly.

I have started a new job and for the first time in seven years of full-time work I actually enjoy spending time in the work place... this could largely be due to my desk being crammed full of cool DJ toys, I have a PC and a separate laptop, two screens, cool! also taking up desk space is a Numark ttx turntable and a Rane TTM 57SL mixer. I get paid to play with these engineering marvels and write about them. The company I work for makes a nifty little DJ toy, its basically a unique piece of vinyl that can control your mp3 tracks on your laptop.

Kat's job is going well. How good a teacher you are in her school seems to be all about what the parents are saying about you, and Kat is getting some good reviews. As long as little jonny tells mummy he is enjoying school then the parents speak highly of Mrs Cooper and are happy to carry on paying the huge fees, this school is funded solely by the parents fees. Kat was asked to stay on for another six months today.

Kiwi news now and the New Zealand government has agreed to the filming of parliamentary sessions. One politician virtually cried when a reporter described him as "examining the insides of his eyeballs" when he was caught asleep. He claimed that journalists weren't funny and that they should consider a different career if they wanted to be comedians.

After living here now for eight weeks we are yet to leave the city centre. However that all changed last saturday when we escaped in my my bosses car and drove out for a day at the beach. Piha beach on the west coast is black volcanic sand and the highlight of the day was spending 10 minutes there getting wet and cold. Brilliant.
