We are now in a place called Mamallapuram and using the easy going tourist town as a means to acclimatise to the crazy place called India. Its really true that people say you will either love or hate India. There are more than 1.1 billion people running around India doing their thing and its this wildness and energy you either love and embrace, or you freak out and hate. We love it.
It's a backpacker's enclave here and the first thing we did on arrival is start doing one of the main reasons I wanted to come to India, Eating. The food here is amazing. As everyone knows I love chilies! At home I was only allowed 2 or 3 curries a week but here we eat curry for breakfast, lunch and dinner and that is normal. Something we started doing each meal is ordering a surprise dish that we have no idea, a sort of pot-luck. Last night Kat picks 'Papad' hmmm we wonder what wonderful culinary delight will arrive? It turned out to be a Poppadom. Adventurous.
The town is famous for its Rock temples dating back 3000 years. There are sculpture shops everywhere and temples, but we only have time for the butter ball. A giant round rock balanced on the top of a cliff, which according to a man in the park the English tried with an elephant to pull it down.
We have arranged a couchsurf with a couple in Pondicherry so the next day we are off down the road to see how the French tried to colonize India.

jakecooper done and done hey bro, me and Pavey have already managed that, we were stumbling down the street inbetween bars and some girls stopped us and actually used the phrase ' wow! are you guys from engalnd? thats so coool!!' we just took one look at each other and put on our most english accents and went to a club with them. its stupidly easy to pick up a girl, all you gotta do is stand at the bar order a drink and let them hear your accent, its AMAZING!!!! hows India going, you guys gotten stranded in the monsoon?
Barry Cooper hey, this is not any old butter ball! this is Krishna's butter ball!! Quite how anyone got it there is a question that I couldn't get a believable answer to...
