Back into the madness, touts shouting for you, no pavement, cars and bikes weaving around you and hot moist heat with a humidity of over %80, welcome to Kuala Lumpur. We didn't spend long here, a friend we couchsurfed with in Fiji, Richard, was working in KL. He arranged us a great hotel and then took us out for a awesome dinner at one of the thousands of street hawkers. He speaks fluent English , Thai & Cantonese, so when he orders Chinese food we know we won't be paying the tourist price, typically double. To escape the heat, we book a ticket on the tourist bus, a hop-on hop-off type of thing which visits all the major attractions. We are skeptical about city sightseeing tour buses being interesting, but it turns out to be a really good way to explore the city without the hassle of buses or taxi drivers that will charge you triple the normal fare. We got in one taxi and its meter started rising faster than my heartbeat, it was clearly fixed and we argued with the driver to reduce the charge. The Petronas twin towers are the main attraction and you can visit them for free, just get there early to book tickets because they only release around 1500 a day to tourists. We couldn't really concentrate on KL as conversation was turning to the planning & preparation of trekking in Nepal for a month. Off to the airport the next day for a budget flight with FlyYeti high into the Himalayas. Cooper Out Love Dan & Kat
