We finally arrived in Fran's we headed to the rain forest hostel this is very popular the kiwi experience. we sorted out our dorms and headed for some food and a few beers we were all pretty tired so we headed back to the dorm and played cards for a bit then fell asleep..
We had arranged to do the Glacier hike the next day its a full days walking, so we was up early made breakfast and then headed up to the glacier we was split into three groups, each group had a guide once we sorted the groups out we headed up to the glacier.

The glacier was first explored by Europeans in 1865 the Austrian explorer named the glacier after the Austrian emperor, the glacier started advancing forward in 1985 after a long period of retreat it progressed forward nearly 2km then it started retreating again in 1996.
Glaciers always advance never retreat ice melts at the bottom faster than it forms on the top the glacier's terminal face moves back up the mountain appearing to retreat, but internally it's still downwardly mobile.
After a goods day walking on the glacier we headed back down to the Village and grabbed some food and had a well deserved beers...
Our next adventure was a skydive over the glaciers the next day so we had a goodnight on the piss..
We got up early and headed to fox Glacier to do the jump i was paired up with Rod the owner he gave me the instructions and of we headed to the plane the plane trip up took us over the Glaciers it was spectacular we reached the height we was jumping from the door opened and we shuffled to the exit i was hung out first and then i posed for a few photo's and of we went free falling at 200kph its such a rush i watched the plane fly away because Rod twisted us around once the chute was deployed i got my camera out took some cool photo's on the way down.
Rod let me play around with the chute on the way down so i Learnt to flair which slows you down flair left and right.. we headed towards the ground i had to lift my legs up as we landed on our bums..

It was such a rush i can understand why my good mate Brian loves the sport, I have to apologies to him as he wanted to jump with me but the weather was fantastic her so i didn't want to miss the opportunity..
Well after that we all had a few beers and some food.. we are heading down to wanaka tomorrow so i will update you guys soon.
