I had a early morning flight from Hanoi so i was up nice and early, the flight was quick around 1 hour 20.

I had a mail from the guys telling me where they was staying so once i landed i grabbed a Tuc tuc and headed to the Mano guest house..

I caught up with the guys at the Royal Palace Museum this was really smart it used to house the former King of Laos he lived there till he died in 1959.

After we grabbed some lunch he restaurant over looked the Mekong river, lunch was so cheap it is even cheaper than Vietnam around a pound for chicken noodles and a drink BARGIN.

After we just wondered around looking at temples ETC we came across a little place that showed movies it was someones house but you could hire rooms and watch movies of your choice, we chose Snatch so we came back later that evening with snacks and beer and sat watching the movie.

It was pauls birthday the next day so we decided to go Elephant riding in the morning then chill in the afternoon. The girls had arranged for a birthday cake to be made as a surprise for Paul he would get this later on in the day.

We got picked up around half 8 it was a 30 minute drive to the elephant ride, i went on the elephant with Lindsey and Paul went with Lisa, our guide took us through the jungle we had such a laugh the elephant was massive me and the guide swapped places so i was on the front of the elephant we went into the river the elephant loved it as we was feeding it bananas.

Once we had finished we headed back to town and headed to the Spa resort to lounge around the pool it was about 38 degrees by now so the prospect of diving into the pool and cooling of was very appealing.

We had the whole pool to ourselves and the views was spectacular, it over looked the mountains.

Later on we grabbed a bottle of vodka and some coke we all sat in the girls room and played drinking games to celebrate Paul's 25th the girls disappeared and got the birthday cake we had managed to keep it a surprise so we put on 25 candles and bought it into the room Paul's face was a picture it was a great birthday for him he was really made up.

Later that evening we went to the Hiv bar unfortunately everything shuts at midnight but they do open the local bowling alley till the early hours of the morning so everyone from the bars head to that for a late drink.

The next day we headed to the spa resort again and chilled there all day the weather was fantastic so we just topped our tans up. .

Later that evening we headed into town for dinner and drinks we all had a early night as we were of the next day to Vang Vieng.
