Just arrived in Sydney so thought we'd update you on our incredbile week in Melbourne! Gareth and Sarah were wonderful hosts and couldnt have made us more welcome. Unlike the standard backpackers experience of melbourne ours included chicken chasing, playing pirates, trampolines and a lot of finding nemo! We loved it.
Firstly we walked melbourne-throught the cbd and botanical gardens and got tickets to see andy murray play in the australian open! A great experience including meeting his brother jamie. Big Day out on australia day was brill and minus an episode with a water hose we enjoyed arctic monkeys, the prodigy, the ting tings, black kids, neil young etc and topped our tans! Tuesday0they lent us the people carrier-we looked well cool! And drove the great ocean road-the sights were incredible and a must for everyone to see. Stayed overnight in a quaint hostel in appollo bay and set off early to the 12 appostles-as u can see by the photos on facebook. Followed this with a tree top walk which made teri feel sick but definatly worth. it. (it sways with the trees!!)
Wednesday evening was ouir big night out in st kildas but once our air conditioned journey home ended-temperatures had soared to 43degrees!!!! TheWe couldnt really move and this lasted for 3 adys of sweating! Jim struggling most hehe. Ryan and jamie took full advantage and took us to the aquarium to see the sharks and penguins followed by a driving tour by sarah to Ramsey st aka pin oak cresent in the suburbs. Its a lot smaller in real life and we felt a little intrusive but elen-i saw karl and susans and toadys houses in real life!!!!
We left friday evening for a 12hour bus journey to sydney which broke down after 15mins-fun fun fun
Missing everybody at home! Will update on sydney this week
Love to all
