We left Hue early and arrived in Hoi An after about 4 hours at lunch time. We checked into a hotel that the coach stopped at as we had nothing booked. It was owned by the same company and was really nice - even had a swimming pool! Unfortunately we didn't use it though as we weren't there for long and also it was raining!!! We spent the afternoon wandering around and predictably I was taken in by the many tailors after a few words of encouragement from Sam! So I was fitted for a coat, a dress, 3 tops, shorts and 2 skirts! Although despite the sheer mass of clothes I don't think I paid more than 60 pounds! We saw Jakob and Cathrine (again!) and we arranged to meet for dinner. After the mammoth shopping session and picking up the coat (after 4 hours!) we met up for dinner and went to an outside place near the river. The food was good but we were served by some young boys who were clearly on something!!! After eating we went for a couple of drinks then said our goodbyes and walked back to the hotel via the market (where we saw loads of rats!) eeek!
The next day I picked up all my clothes!!! We had breakfast down by the river and I ordered museli and yoghurt....and the serving was tiny!! It came out in a tumbler glass!!! After wandering round and collecting all the clothes we stocked up on drink for Christmas and then stopped for a drink. We bumped into Jakob and Cathrine again and we all went for some lunch together! It was really nice food by really expensive!!! The restaurant had obviously put prices up after being recommended by the Lonely Planet!!!! We went back to the hotel where we waited for our bus to Nha Trang. We tried to negotiate being dropped off before Nha Trang so we could be picked up for a transfer to our resort on Whale Island which is about 100km north of Nha Trang. The language barrier didn't help but we finally managed to work it out and the driver was notified!!!
