The bus from Nha Trang to Dalat took 7 hours. We arrived with the aim of staying in a particular hostel (which we hadn't booked) so we walked there only to find they were full! They recommened one a couple of doors down so we stayed there! Once there the boys went out for a wander whilst I stayed in the hotel room watching the Disney Channel and MTV Asia! They booked an Easy Rider tour for the next day. We went for dinner and we ended up catching the end of the Vietnam v Thailand final for some Asian Championship. Vietnam won and the city went mental! People were whizzing around on their mopeds with flags, beeping their horns!!! It was amazing to see!!!
The Easy Rider tour is basically a tour of the countryside around Dalat (which is compared to the Alps) on the back of motorbikes! It was the most amazing form of transport we have done so far and we all enjoyed it so much we said it has given us the taste to ride again!!!! The bikes must have been 150cc....and we only had a helmet for protection despite travelling at 60 km/hr! Although having said that I felt safe at all times so it wasn't an issue!! We saw loads of sights related to the war - including an area where vegetation had been destroyed by Orange Agent, as well as an old American Airbase. We also saw an amazing waterfall and a silk factory and the Dragon Pagoda and the Crazy House (pictured above) in Dalat. It is said to be a cross between Gaudi and Alice and Wonderland - one thing is for sure it is crazy!!!
Back at the hotel I watched more TV while the boys wandered around the lake. We went for dinner and had an early night!
