We arrived in Brisbane at around 8am and spent the morning in the Bus Station waiting for a bus to take us slightly north to the Sunshine Coast to see Rach (my old uni housemate for those who don't know!) and her boyfriend Jonny in Mooloolaba. Don't worry it took me a couple of attempt to pronounce that when I first saw it too! We met up with them once we arrived in the early evening for a drink and wandered along the coast which just reminded me of Home & Away! It had a surf club and everything it was just so pretty. We went for dinner at a really nice Italian then had a really early night after an exhausting time in Cairns!!

Next day was an early start as the boys had arranged to go down to the beach with Jonny to learn to surf! Me and Rach went along to watch (and sunbathe!) at a beach called Alexandra Head just north of Mooloolaba. The waves looked pretty vicious and boys were drifting quite a bit - I wasn't surprised when they came out saying it was really tough! Me and Rach entertained ourselves watching a load of lifeguards in training being put through their paces!! We had lunch with Rach at 'Raw Energy' a juice bar where Jonny works which was yum then wandered around before heading back to the hostel. In the evening we went to a British Pub chain over here called the Pig & Whistle before enjoying a few rounds of touch cup (drinking game) and then engaging in conversation with some Kiwi's about the Southern Cross star constellation!!! By this point we were all pretty merry and went back to the hostel to bed ready for an early morning pick up for Fraser Island!
