The bus journey was interesting. The bus broke down at one point and we ended up stopping for over 30 minutes at Mittagong, a small town in between Sydney and Canberra where ironically I have some more relatives which unfortunately I couldn't visit in the end as they are ill. An hour late I rolled into Canberra and met John, my mum's half cousin at the bus station - we had agreed that I would be the one with the straw hat!!! We drove back to their place in one of Canberra's suburbs and I was greeted by his wife Barbara and their grandchildren Jasmine and Lewis. We had a delicious meal before we sat up chatting, talking about family, and our respective lives as well as my trip before going to bed.
The next day Barbara and I went to go and watch Jasmine horse riding in the morning as well as driving around a bit to look at some of the local scenery. After lunch John took Jasmine, Lewis and myself to Mt. Ainslie and the Black Mountains to the Telstra Tower as well as driving round Canberra. We had an amazing Roast Lamb for dinner and then for a walk via the golf course where I saw loads of wild kangaroos! It was amazing! Lewis managed to collect at least 20 golf balls that were left at various points around the course which was rather amusing especially seeing him trying to put them in his pockets!!! In the end Barbara and I carried some on the way home!!!!
The day after, Barbara took Jasmine, Lewis and myself to the New Parliament building and then various sights around Canberra including the library and the museum where we met Barbara and John's daughter Joanne and her daughter Selina, who was so smiley!!! We looked around and then had lunch before going outside for some photos and then going to the Botanical Gardens. Lewis wanted to show me some of the trails so we went off alone and before we knew it we had lost our way back to Barbara and Jasmine so we were wandering around for quite a while!!!! Eventually we found them and then headed back to the house for some dinner. That evening I waited up, chatting with Barbara as well as phoning home before leaving for the bus around 11pm.
