Hello again,
Our stay on the lake continued to be very relaxing, family style dinners every night, delicious, where you got to know other guests. This view is from the hotel jetty. Spent the first day taking a boat ride to one of the other villages for a look around and lunch. Very steep, tiny and narrow cobblestone streets or dirt tracks - certainly good for getting the heart racing and we aren´t even carrying the loads the locals do. Got to ride in a tuc tuc (or microbus) down those very same steep streets!!!!!! Great fun.
Pete´s friends finally caught up with us and we had a lovely day together, they came to the same hotel on the way to the beach. Four, very cute, very cheeky , very pretty little girls. Went kyaking on the lake together and walked to another village along the hillsides to have icecreams. Pete and Charles did alot of catching up!! Toby and I found communication a little difficult as no one else spoke any English and the four or so words we have learnt didn´t really cut it. Still, you can communicate with kids without any spoken language.
Flew out to Ecuador on the Monday, Pete had an interesting experience in Miami. They have been pulling me aside every flight but didn´t on this one so thought we were safe. Ha Ha! The US really sucks to go into, we were going on to Quito but they have no transfer lounge so we actually had to go thro´immigration and customs and recheck our bags. Well!, the line took an hour and then Pete´s fingerprints from B4 mismatched so he got dragged of to another room with all the other mismatches and terrorists. Of course we went too, they took him eventually to another room and redid them and it came up OK. Brown undies and thoughts of David Hicks and Gauntanimo tho!!!!!
That´s it for now, see you in Ecuador
