Day 20 - On The Road Again....
With the number of days until our deadline of 12pm NYE to get to Sydney diminishing fast, we decided to push it to lose a day to travel rather then the best part of several days, with half afternoons spent in random towns. We selected a route and hit the road.
There's not an awful lot to say about the day. Our first leg got us as far as Albury, whereby a pit stop at Tourist Info told us all we needed to know. We didn't need to spend too long in Albury. So we made a sarnie in the back of Bruno and cracked on.
We share the driving and what with the test match (which didn't go on as long as it could have), trivial pursuit on the iPad (questions read to the driver, by the passenger) and games of Spot the Kangaroo, time and KM's passed quickly. Unfortunately so did the fuel. We pulled into the same Shell garage as everyone else in NSW and waited patiently to fill up for the 2nd time in the day. We rewarded ourselves by popping to McDonald's for a milkshake, only to find every other chunky undesirable from NSW. After travelling for six hours that day I imagine they were just as impressed at the sights of us.
We arrived at a small campsite,at about 5.30pm, some eight hours and 700km after leaving Bendigo. We chilled out, washed up and went to what the camp site man had reliably informed us was the "best cafe in Goulburn, no in NSW". The Paragon was indeed very good. The food fresher then the decor at was definitely stuck in the 60's, and not in a good retro way. Good food and a bottle of Aussie White wine to wash it down and we were happy travellers.
